ORPHANAGE VISIT AT VATSALYA TRUST

Founder’s Day was organized on October 01, 2022 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Professor Javed Khan at Sanpada Campus of Oriental Education Society. The event was jointly celebrated by Sanpada College of Commerce and Technology, Oriental College of Education, Oriental College of Law, Oriental College of Pharmacy, Oriental Institute of Management, and Oriental International School.

Oriental college law visited Vatsalya Trust Sanpada for distribution of Fruits and stationery to the childrens of the trust. Other Departments of oriental education society’s accompanied oriental college of law for the distribution of fruits and stationery. The distribution was successful and all the childrens of trust enjoyed the presence of the faculties during visit. A social cause was fulfilled on the occasion of Founders day with the blessings of our esteemed Prof. Javed khan and torchbearer.

MAHARASHTRA JUDICIAL ACADEMY

Organized a Visit to Maharashtra Judicial Academy

Oriental College of Law visited “Maharashtra Judicial Academy and Indian Mediation Centre and Training Institute and Mediation Centre” (hereinafter referred to as “the Academy” for brevity), at Uttan, Bhayandar, Mumbai on the 20th of August 2022 (Saturday). The visit was organized by the team of Faculty Members of the Oriental College of Law with continued support from the Administration of the Academy. The approval of the visit had been completed within short notice with the kind grace of the members of the Academy. The teaching Staff of Oriental College of Law, along with 150 students from all batches, who were selected on a first-come-first-serve basis, departed from the college campus at 7.30 am and reached the Academy by around 9:30 am due to low to moderate traffic conditions. After reaching, students were asked to form a file for proceeding to the Canteen for breakfast. The Academy had specifically arranged two sessions for the students in two different seminar halls. These sessions gave a glimpse of the Judicial Body of the Government of India, with a specific focus on the Judicial System within the State of Maharashtra. Hon’ble Assistant Member Miss Palak Rajput facilitated these sessions batch-wise and ensured proper guidance on Judiciary as a career and its related aspects, mechanisms on how to study, approach to be taken for preparing for prelims, mains, and interview/viva voce for budding Judge-aspirants throughout all batches of both law courses. The students seemed keen on interactions with the Hon’ble Chairman and Additional Directors of the Academy. There seemed to be no queries that were left unanswered. A guided tour was facilitated of the campus auditorium, and the library and the scenic infrastructure of the campus were shown to the students. Photo sessions of all students and faculties were conducted along with the Academy Team comprising the following Honorable Members, viz. Shri Girish Agarwal Sir (Chairman and Director), Shri N M Jamadar Sir (Additional Director), Miss Palak Jamdar Ma’am (Additional Director), and Miss Rajput (Assistant Director). In the afternoon students and faculty members proceeded for lunch and at 3:30 pm all boarded the bus. The Teaching Staff of the oriental college of law and Members of the Maharashtra Judicial Academy interacted at the end of the session. Mrs. Rupali Jamode (Principal), Mr. Prakash Deshmukh, Ms. Disha Sharma (Asst. Prof), Mrs. Anam Mehandikar( Asst. Prof), Ms. Yuthika Sawant (Asst Prof), Ms. Nitu Vishwakarma (Asst Prof), Mr. Khan Nuruddin( Asst Prof), Mr. Ranjeev Joseph (Asst Prof) were present.

THANE COURT VISIT- 2022

ORGANISED A VISIT FOR THE STUDENTS TO THANE COURT.
Oriental college of law students visited the Thane court on 13th April 2022. This visit was organized for the students to make them understand the functioning and working of the lower courts its process and how they perform their daily day-to-day activities and proceedings of the court.
The students were accompanied by Asst. Prof Nitu V., it was great exposure for the students of BLS LLB as after the pandemic it was their first visit to any court in Mumbai

NRI POLICE STATION VISIT- 2022

ORGANISED VISIT TO NRI POLICE STATION SEAWOODS

Students of The Oriental College of Law visited the NRI police station on 13th April 2022 with Asst Prof Prakash Deshmukh, Asst Prof Nitu Shrivastav, and Asst Prof. Disha Sharma to get insights into the work process of police officials. Questions were asked by the student to the police officials and it was promptly answered by the officials. This gave the students a better understanding of the working process of police authorities. The visit to the NRI police station started at 10 am and it went till 1 pm in the afternoon.

BOMBAY HIGH COURT VISIT- 2022

ORGANISED VISIT TO BOMBAY HIGH COURT ON 27TH APRIL 2022

The students visited the Bombay Bar Association, Mediation center, and High Court Museum. They were accompanied by Asst. Prof Anam, Asst. Prof Deshmukh sir and Asst. Prof Goswami mam.

Judicial Academy- 2019

One day Capsule Course was organised at Maharashtra Judicial Academy by Oriental College of Law for final year students of BLS LLB and LLB. Around 50 students were part of it along with five faculty members.
The course included the series of four lecture of around 1hr each. The speakers for the lecture were four eminent Judges Shri. S. V. Yarlagadda, (Joint Director, MJA), Shri. K. R. Singhel (Deputy Director, MJA), Shri. N. M. Jamadar, (Additional Director MJA), and Shri. U. B. Shukla, (Additional Director MJA) who spoke on different practical aspects of Law. “Spot on Jail”, Criminal Procedure, Judiciary as a Career option, Judicial Process and Judicial Writing, and Learning Law respectively.
The overall experience that the students and faculty members had was exceptionally useful.

Court Visit – 2019

As a part of the practical training all the students of LLB 2nd Year and BLS 4th Year visited Vashi Court on 18th April 2019 .The purpose of the court visit was to get acquainted with the legal procedure and filing of the cases along with the clerical, official and judicial procedure of the court.

The Students were divided in groups in order to have maximum exposure of the functioning of the court viz. Court room of Hon’ble Justice Kale and Hon’ble Justice Bari respectively. The student observed the case of cheque bouncing u/s 138 of Negotiable Instrument Act and its proceeding with cross examination into the court room of Hon’ble Justice Bari. Hon’ble Justice Kale and Hon’ble Justice Bari guided the student on future prospect as a legal profession. Both the eminent jurist helped the students in clearing the doubts on certain issues within parameter of law .The students were even privilege in visiting the office of Bar association where the Hon’ble President of the Bar Adv Prasad Patil guided the students on ethical and professional code of conduct of the Advocate, which will help the law student to be a better and successful advocate of the Society.

The court visit was concluded with a vote of thanks and appreciation by presenting a bouquet to the Hon’ble Judges and the member of the bar Association .The visit of the court was truly fruitful and certainly it has benefited the students in getting experience and exposure of the court proceedings.

Police Station Visit – 2019:

The Oriental College of Law conducted police station visit for the purpose of Practical Training- I for the Student of third year BLS.LL.B and the first year LL.B.
The Visit was conducted on 18th April, 2019 at Sanpada Police Station, Navi Mumbai. The students of BLS.LL.B and LL.B were guided by Abhay Kakad, Writer and the Senior Police Inspector Vikash Rambulaye. The Students were briefed about the working of Police Station, Filing of Complaint, FIR, IT department, CCTNS etc.
Both the officers were felicitated by Prof. Shamsher Ali and the visit concluded on a learning note for the students.

Students of Oriental College of Law, visited the Nerul Police Station on 27/1/2018 along with Prof. Adv. Dr. Prakash Deshmukh and Prof. Runjhun Srivastava. Senior Police Inspector and other Police Officers of Nerul Police Station gave very valuable information to the students and explained the various processes handled by the Police while investigating a crime.

Trial Court Visit – 2018:

Students of Oriental College of Law, visited the Court of Judicial Magistrate First Class & Civil Judge Junior Division, Uran on 25/1/2018 along with Prof. Adv. Dr. Prakash Deshmukh and Prof. Runjhun Srivastava. Some Senior Advocate as well as Prof. Dr. Deshmukh guided the students and explained the procedure involved in proceedings before the Court. The Hon’ble Judge also gave very valuable information to the students.

 

High Court Visit – 2018:

Students of Oriental College of Law, visited Bombay High Court on 19/1/2018 along with Prof. Runjhun Srivastava. Adv. Dr. Prakash Deshmukh and Adv. Shreekant Gavand, Addl. Public Prosecutor, High Court, guided the students.
The Students also visited office of Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa, where respected Secretary Shri. Ranpise address the students and gave information about overall working of bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa and Bar Council of India. Thereafter the students also visited the office of Maharashtra Legal Services Authority, where Shri. Pimple, (CJJD & JMFC), Under Secretary, MLSA gave very valuable information in respect of working of MLSA and importance of Free Legal Aid.

Students of Oriental College of Law, visited Bombay High Court on 10/2/2017 with Prof. Dr. Prakash Deshmukh and Senior Advocate Shri. Shreepad Murthy and Mr. Shreekant Gavand, Addl. Public Prosecutor, High Court explained the students about overall procedure of Civil and Criminal Court.

Students of Oriental College of Law visited Trial Court (Court of CJJD & JMFC, Vashi at Belapur) on 7/2/2017 with Prof. Nilesh Bagade, Prof. Ravnish Bector and Prof. Fakhra Tabassum
